PCP4NbS Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP)

This report presents key findings and insights from the Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) assessment under the Philippines-Canada Partnership for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Adaptation (PCP4NbS) program. The KAP assessment captures baseline information on existing and potential NbS-related programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), as well as effective strategies in implementing and monitoring these interventions within the respective project sites, namely: Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Calamianes Group of Islands (Palawan), Basco (Batanes), Siruma (Camarines Sur), Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro. Target stakeholders include government agencies, local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations (CSOs), academic research institutions (ARIs), and people’s organizations (POs) for farmers, fisherfolks, women, Indigenous Peoples, and youth sector

This project was implemented by the University of the Philippines Los Banos under the Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning in the College of Human Ecology (UPLB-CHE-DCERP) from October 2024 to July 2025.

Impact Assessment of the National Integrated Basic Research Agenda Programs and Projects

The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), an attached agency of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)  is one of the advisory bodies to the national government on matters of national interest. Over the past decade, the NRCP has authorized and provided funding for the execution of systems-oriented research and development (R&D) initiatives that align with the DOST’s strategic R&D priority areas and programs. It was anticipated that these initiatives would improve community well-being and quality of life while also improving the condition of our ecological systems, thereby fostering resilience. These paved the way to the proposal of conducting a comprehensive impact assessment which is titled “Impact Assessment of the National Integrated Basic Research Agenda Programs and Projects” to provide a clear measure of the returns of the utilized R&D funds by NRCP as well as identify, provide evidence, and quantify the biophysical, social, and economic impacts of NRCP-GIA projects.
